Being a Realtor in the Spring Market is like being a professional juggler. Especially right now, in one of the toughest markets in history.

With listings flying off the market and receiving multiple offers, and buyers writing on several homes before getting offers accepted…it is not an easy time to be a realtor! You are likely working twice as hard and seeing half the results in this competitive time.

Between work, family, and personal life- it can feel like you are endlessly juggling it all. Here are some ideas for making the Spring market more manageable for your career, your mental health, and your family.

Prioritize Quality Time

As the saying goes, “When you keep the first things the first things, everything falls into place.” Don’t let your family and other relationships slip off the radar because of work. Be conscious about prioritizing them! This will make you feel more productive and less overwhelmed in the long run. The Spring market will only last so long, but friendships & family will last a lot longer. You need the support of your friends & family to succeed in Real Estate.

Try to find the time for the things that are needed to fill your own cup, too. Whether that be going on a run, taking a bath, cooking, or gardening: everyone needs a break from the hustle and bustle sometimes.

Take Things Off Your Plate with Delegation

If it’s not something you personally need to do, delegate it! It’s hard not to be in control, but delegating is necessary for managing a busy schedule AND staying on top of everything. It also will help you reach your potential in your business because you will have more time to focus on the things that maximize profit and productivity like focusing on your business development or listing strategy.

Simple tasks like hiring a transaction management company, a virtual assistant, or a marketing assistant are all things that can and should be off-loaded for you to scale and grow your business. Hiring someone to take some things off your plate during the summer months is a great way to stay on track AND find yourself with a freed up schedule to focus on what is really important to you and your business.

If you are really struggling with delegating, try meeting with your broker to see what your office offers in terms of assistance. You might be surprised at what they can offer you to help!

Make the Most of Your Morning Routine

Many Real Estate duties don’t happen until later morning, afternoons, and evenings. Many realtors feel like their days get out of control fast with last minute showings, sellers with questions, or client calls. Make the most of the time that you CAN control by making the most of the time that IS in your control.

One way to maximize your morning routine is one that is difficult for many…getting up early! The sunlight in the morning can help get you out of bed. Get up an hour early and take time writing out your to-do’s for the day. Once you get more in control of your time, you will feel like you get so much more done during the day!

Hal Elrod, best-selling author of The Miracle Morning writes, “Remember, the moment you accept total responsibility for everything in your life is the moment you claim the power to change anything in your life.”
