Most Realtors agree that they want to get more listings and sell more houses but might be feeling stuck on how to do that. Here are 3 ways to improve your Minnesota Real Estate Business this summer.

1. Know the Area

There’s a reason “Local Area Expertise” is a rating on Zillow reviews. To be an irreplaceable realtor, you should know the ins and outs of the areas you are working in. Does Lakeville have awesome brewery options, walking trails, and great school districts? Is there new developments popping up in the Eagan area? Does Minneapolis have a great Walkability Score? Keep up to date on developments in the cities you are working in, schools, area hotspots and neighborhoods with kids or with older professionals. When a client comes to you looking for a quiet neighborhood or a bustling city atmosphere with coffee shops walking distance away, you will know where to send them.

2. Market Your Listings for the Listings you Hope to Have

Drone footage, Virtual Tours, Staging, and Photography are pricey so it may be appealing to skip this important part of listing marketing. But if you want to attract million dollar plus listings, you should market all of your listings like they are a million dollar listing. The Mortgage Report writes that staged homes sell 73% faster than their counterparts- that’s a statistic not to ignore! “Most buyers now begin their home searches online, having your home professional staged appropriately can be crucial toward that first step of attracting an interested buyer” (The Mortgage Report). If you start investing in this side of your business, the hope is that next time you’re in a listing presentation meeting, you can easily pull examples of times that your Listing Marketing helped sell a home faster and for better than asking price.

3. Get Involved in your Community

Get involved in the schools, community organizations, and things that you are passionate within your community. Real Estate is a referral business. Be someone that people want to refer by being plugged into your community. One of the best ways to do this is to get involved in things you care about. If you are passionate about giving back, find a nonprofit to volunteer with. If you’re passionate about safety, volunteer to be on your neighborhoods crime watch.
